A recent golf periodical discussed idea that 9 hole courses might be wave of future. Cheaper to build, less land to occupy… but the real reason was time. People just don’t have TIME to dedicate to golf. No Time? Really??? Reconcile this…
You don’t have to find, kill, cook your own food. You don’t need to generate heat. You don’t need to make candles, or torches… so that you have light at sunset. The bathroom seems pretty convenient too. Some of you don’t even have to commute to work, to get money. Other people will grocery shop for you, other people will take care of your kids, other people will even walk your dog.
You don’t need to work out, just take Ozempic. You don’t need to learn, YouTube solves all your plumbing issues. You don’t need to read, someone else wiLL read to you through your ear buds. Hell, you don’t even have to write…”hey ChatGPT, write a letter resigning me from this job, the boss doesn’t understand my needs, nor does he appreciate me.”
Let me get this straight. Golf was invented ONLY thanks to innovations that allowed humans to have more free time in a day. Now we are supposed to believe that life is so complicated people don’t have time for golf? That’s the stupidest thing I have ever heard.
