I get these fan emails from time to time. Never quite sure how to respond. As you read, picture how consumed you must be to sit down and write this, read it, change it, read it, and push send….
“I see the next senior showdown isn’t filling up too fast… Gee, I wonder why, hahahah?! You got too greedy and thankfully you’re paying for it, in more ways than one. Just turn the whole place into a habitat housing development and get it over with. You ruined what could’ve been a decent place. Of course, being the narcissist that you are, you still think you’re the victim here. So good luck with that. And your idiotic “newsletter” is not doing you any good, makes you sounds even more like a moron! Me and a LOT of other golfers that are spreading the word, will never play there again and good riddance! YOU killed the golden goose.”
It appears his remaining life energy will be spent trying to ensure our business is destroyed. Once he is successful (and he seems sure he will be), it’ll be kind of weird to tell him I never owned the housing development in the first place… I simply own the golf course. Again… a glimpse into what fills my days.
Nick is an absolutely phenomenal communicator!
Very gifted writer. Creative, insightful, in the know and spot on! A true professional in every way. Keep up the good all around work, Nick!
Thanks Gary. Always trying to keep it fun and hopefully funny. Doing my best!
You kind of just proved that persons point – by airing out your dirty laundry like you have in the past as well. You have a great course but sometimes you don’t come off very well when you say stuff like the above. I know you don’t really care…but you will in the long run
I thought it was funny to write me that email, not based on facts. I’m clearly not the developer. I use my newsletters to entertain. I found it entertaining. Anyone who knows me knows that. Anyone judging me by newsletters, doesn’t really know me, they simply have a story they have created about the guy who writes the newsletters. Why didn’t you attach your name?
Dude’s an idiot. I, for one, am glad he’ll not be playing RSPGL anymore. More tee times for those of us who appreciate Nick’s efforts.
Thanks buddy. You know me, you know it’s all in fun.
Maybe this guy should research the history of the property plan with its inevitable future and the ownership of the course itself. Nick has always been accessible and approachable , with an opinion formed from experience as a pro, employer and owner.
My guess the he was typing this after missing his 15th straight fairway or after his fifth attempt to get out of one of the traps 🤷♂️?
I thought it was pretty funny to write all that. Sounds like you thought the same!
great course –great owner and a fantastic staff !
We do have fantastic staff. Thanks for nice note.
I never much cared for goose anyway. I don’t think the DNR requires a license to kill a golden goose. Taking a positive from this, this person did call your place “The Golden Goose”. Well done.
Good point! He also called my newsltters moronic or something like that. I take that as a compliment too. He must not like me, but he sure likes to hear my spin on the golf business.
