I Don’t Trust You

Did you know that 90% of airplane tickets are booked online? I didn’t know that 10% still use the phone. I mean who is using the phone to book an airline ticket? Weird. A recent golf business magazine had an article about booking tee times online. I know our stats are rising every year, but nationally…do you know how many people book tee times online? It’s only 40%. Golf has been notoriously horrible at innovation. I can name a couple courses in our area, that still don’t even have computers for tee sheets or checking people in. Just paper, pencil and an old Folgers can. But let’s talk about all the courses that have some degree of technology that is simply being under utilized, why is that? Trust! Golf courses haven’t been able to prove they can get crushed peanuts out of the glove box holder of a golf cart, why in the world would you trust them with your money or personal information? The staff that is supposed to serve you could barely run a concession stand at a 6th grade basketball game. Again, there needs to be trust!

At RSPGL, we can only do a small part when it comes to building national trust. If you book online and have issues or need a refund, we make it priority #1. You are more likely to trust the process if we show urgency. If you pre-pay in advance, we make sure we whip you right through and get you on the course without confusion. Nothing destroys trust like parting with hundreds of dollars and then the course staff stares at you bewildered. Everyone has to earn trust. If you trust me, just go ahead and book online. If you don’t trust me, I have an idea how you might buy your next airline ticket. And that’s Ok.
