We do something poorly that I am very proud of. I am often approached by people with drone or photography businesses that point out how pathetic the “Course Tour” on our website is. Sure we have beautiful pictures sprinkled around, but for those looking to LEARN the details of every hole, I have done a terrible job. And it’s all by design. I walk a fine line. I need to make you curious enough that you want to visit, but I see no upside in showing you what’s here. That’s the magic of golf. It’s a riddle you are supposed to seek out and solve for yourself. To those courses who write paragraphs on their website on how to play a hole, or what the architect intended… WHY? Leave some mystery for the golfer. To those courses who provide a detailed flyover of every hole… WHY? Allowing you to experience RSPGL from your couch in the middle of January is not only bad for business, it once again destroys the mystery magic.
Thanks to the proliferation of information, we can basically learn anything we want, anytime we want…and at least when it comes to golf, I think that’s a crappy idea. Nothing we do or don’t do, is random. What’s unique about RSPGL is that I’m willing to share and explain the things that are right in front of you, or in the case of website course tours, why things are not in front of you. Making RSPGL exciting on a subconscious level, might be why you like this place, but you can’t explain why.
